Dry heat has a long history of use for improving skin conditions. People around the world have benefited from dry heat in saunas for centuries. The same principles also benefit your skin when you get a facial. Dry heat facials open up your pores, increase the amount of blood flow to your face and draw impurities to the surface of your skin. The increased blood flow to your face may temporarily give your skin a more glowing, rejuvenated appearance.

Step 1

Clean your skin thoroughly with a gentle cleanser. Remove all traces of eye makeup, using a special eye-makeup remover if necessary. Dry your face thoroughly with a clean towel.

Step 2

Heat a clean towel in the clothes dryer for 10 to 15 minutes. Take the towel out of the dryer, and drape it over your face, taking care to avoid placing it directly on your eyes.

Step 3

Lie down with the towel on your face, and leave it in place for at least five minutes or until the towel cools down.

Step 4

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 again a few more times, using a clean towel each time.

Step 5

Clean away any impurities that have come to the surface of the skin with a gentle toner. Apply moisturizer all over your face.

Things You'll Need

  • Facial cleanser
  • Eye-makeup remover (optional)
  • Moisturizer
