Barnelli's Pasta Bowl is an Illinois-based restaurant that focuses on home-style Italian cooking, fresh ingredients and family recipes. Its chopped salad is one of 12 specialty salads on the menu, mixing a variety of vegetables, meats, cheeses and dressing. All Barnelli's Pasta Bowl restaurants are located inside of Portillo's restaurants.

Chopped Salad Ingredients

The Barnelli's Pasta Bowl chopped salad contains five vegetables: Romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, green onions and red cabbage. There are two kinds of meat -- chicken and bacon -- along with Gorgonzola cheese and house dressing. The salad comes with fresh-baked bread.


The Bernelli's chopped salad contains two servings of Romaine and iceberg lettuce, one serving each of cooked chicken breast, tomato, bacon, green onion and Gorgonzola cheese crumbles, and one-half serving of Italian house dressing. Because Bernelli's does not reveal its recipes for dressings and sauces, Kraft's Italian house dressing has been substituted for all nutritional values. Based on nutritional information from LIVESTRONG.com's MyPlate, the average chopped salad contains 524 calories, meaning it accounts for 26.2 percent of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration suggestion of 2,000 calories per day for the average adult. The largest caloric contributors are the chicken, which has 196 calories and the Gorgonzola cheese, which has100 calories.
