Cookies 'n Cream Supreme Protein Bars have a chocolate layer with imbedded chocolate crisps covering a chocolate cookie topped with a vanilla cream. Supreme protein bars are designed to provide high levels of protein and energy replacement for athletes. These bars come in 88 g and 45 g sizes.
Protein
The 88 g-sized Cookies 'n Cream Supreme Protein Bars provide 30 g of protein. The protein sources are primarily whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate and milk protein isolate. Isolated soy protein and peanut paste are also used. Whey protein is easily digested while milk casein protein is digested slower. Stuart Phillips of McMaster University in Canada found weightlifters that consumed milk developed more lean muscle mass over 12 weeks than those who ate an equivalent blend of soy protein and carbohydrates.
Oil
One 88 g bar has 45 percent of saturated fat RDA. Palm kernel oil, fractionated palm kernel oil flax seed oil and canola oil are all found in Cookies 'n Cream Supreme Protein Bars.
Sweeteners
The vanilla cream layer contains high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup and malitol syrup. These sugar syrups provide a melt in your mouth sensation. Sugar is used in the chocolate coating and the chocolate cookie layer. Sugars are a source of available energy for athletes.
Vitamins
Cookies 'n Cream Supreme Protein Bars are supplemented with several vitamins and minerals. The 88 g bar provides 30 percent of Vitamin A RDA, 20 percent of vitamin C RDA and 45 percent of vitamin E RDA . Riboflavin, niacin, folate and vitamin B-12 are also in the supplement blend. Cookies 'n Cream Supreme Protein Bars have at least 10 percent of the RDA of iron, zinc, copper and manganese.
Other Ingredients
Cocoa powder is used in the chocolate coating, chocolate crisp and cookie layer. Wheat flour and tapioca starch provide structure to the cookie layer and crisps, respectively.
