There are many types of shapes, colors, textures and flavors of cheese. Nutritional values, specifically calorie content, vary depending on the type of cheese.

Sliced Cheese

Sliced cheeses are normally used on sandwiches or similar foods, and they include types like American, provolone and Swiss. A 1-oz. slice of each has the following calories: American, 96; provolone, 98; and Swiss, 106.

Brick Cheese

Almost all cheeses are available in brick form, with some of the most well-known varieties being cheddar, gouda and mozzarella. A 30 g serving of each of these cheeses has the following calories: cheddar, 124; Gouda, 113; mozzarella, 87.

Other Types

Cheese comes in other types as well. A piece of string cheese has 80 calories per piece, a 1-oz. piece of blue cheese has 100 calories, a 1-oz. piece of Brie has 95 calories and a 100 g piece of goat's cheese has 198 calories.
