Egg beaters have a shelf life of up to 90 days, compared to 60 days for whole eggs, according to eggbeaters.com. Once opened, however, egg beaters should be used within seven days.

Identification

Egg beaters provide 30 calories per 1/4 cup serving, according to the nutrition label. One serving is the equivalent of one egg. Egg beaters provide less than half the calories of a whole egg, which the American Egg Board lists as having 70 calories each.

Nutrients

Egg beaters are cholesterol and fat free, providing 1 g of carbohydrates and 6 g of protein per serving. Egg beaters are also fortified with additional vitamins A, B-12, D and E, as well as folic acid and riboflavin, according to eggbeaters.com.

Uses

You can replace eggs in recipes with 1/4 cup of egg beaters per egg or substitute 2 tbsp. of egg beaters for every egg white called for. And you can make scrambled eggs, omelets and other egg dishes with egg beaters.
