Garden of Life Perfect Cleanse is a three-step cleansing system created to remove excess waste and toxins from the colon. The first step is to purify the body, the second step is used to capture the waste trapped along the colon wall and the final step is to remove the waste products from the body. It is encouraged to consult with a health care specialist before starting any herbal cleanse as a treatment option.
Step One Ingredients
Step one, also known as the Purify process, includes ingredients, such as milk thistle seed extract. Milk thistle belongs to the daisy plant family and is most commonly associated with cleansing toxins found in the liver. According to National Institutes of Health, milk thistle has been linked to removing damages to the liver caused by liver disorders. Another ingredient is cilantro, which comes from the coriander plant. It is a natural cleansing herb that helps aid the production of gastric juices.
Yarrow flower extract is also another ingredient in the step one process. Yarrow helps to increase stomach acid, which promotes better digestion. It is also considered useful for treating loss of appetite and persistent inflammation according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Chlorella, which is green algae, is another ingredient in the first step process of the Garden of Life Perfect Cleanse. Chlorella acts as a cleansing agent in the detoxification process. According to the American Cancer Society, chlorella may be able to prevent some types of cancer because of its toxin and chemical-fighting actions. The other ingredients include broccoli extract, aged garlic extract, dandelion root extract, Selenium and magnesium stearate.
Step Two Ingredients
The ingredients in the Capture formula, which is step two in the detox process, includes flax seed, which is commonly used as a laxative and a source of dietary fiber. Pea hull fiber also has a laxative like effect on the intestines. According to a 2003 study performed by the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, a significant increase in bowel movement frequency was reported after including trace amounts of pea hull fiber to the diet of elderly subjects. The alfalfa whole leaf is a diuretic as well as a detoxifying agent. Barley whole leaf and chia seed are also ingredients found in step two of the Garden of Life Perfect Cleanse. Inactive ingredients include fillers like microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate.
Step Three Ingredients
Perfect Cleanse Remove formula is the third and final step that acts to remove waste products from the body. This step has natural Epsom Salt listed as an ingredient. Epsom Salt is commonly used as a laxative because it is responsible for increasing water in the intestines. Fenugreek seed extract, another ingredient, has a diuretic effect and is known as an anti-inflammatory agent. Other ingredients include bishops weed, peppermint leaf, Aloe Vera whole leaf, fennel seed and ginger root. Step three's inactive ingredients include magnesium stearate and microcrystalline cellulose.
