Melaleuca is a wellness company that created a line of multivitamins called Vitality. These vitamins can be purchased online or over the phone, and are cheaper if you have a paid membership with the company. Melaleuca has a Vitality Women’s formula, tailored to the nutritional needs of women. Melaleuca introduced the oligofructose complex, which is a process that reportedly increases absorption of the vitamins by binding minerals to amino acids and the oligofructose compound.
The Melaleuca Vitality Women’s formula contains 3,000 IU of beta-carotene, or vitamin A. It has 150mg of vitamin C, and 200 IU of vitamin D. There is 30 IU of vitamin E . The product contains 28mcg of vitamin K as phytonadione, and 15mg of thiamine. Additionally, 75mg of niacin, 10mg of vitamin B-6, 12mcg of vitamin B-12, 20mg of pantothenic acid and 300mcg of biotin are included. One of the most important vitamins for women, especially of childbearing age, is folic acid. This Vitality formula contains 800mcg of folic acid, which can help prevent birth defects.
A variety of minerals is included in Melaleuca’s Vitality Women’s formula. Calcium to strengthen bones and teeth is included in a dosage of 250mg. The product contains 9mg of iron, 150mcg of phosphorus and 200mg of magnesium. Also included are 15mg of zinc, 105mcg of selenium, 3mg of copper, 2.5mg of manganese, 120mcg of chromium and 75mcg of molybdenum. All of these minerals feature their oligofructose complex to help with absorption into the body.
Other ingredients are incorporated into the Vitality Women’s formula for stability, shelf life and flavor. Microcrystalline cellulose helps the ingredients come together in solid form. Both croscarmellose sodium and sodium starch glycolate allow for the vitamin to disintegrate for absorption in the intestines. Silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose and stearic acid are added as well. Polyethylene glycol, magnesium stearate and vanillin complete the product. All of the ingredient information can be found by lifting the product label on the back of the bottle.
