Cream of celery soup is a common canned soup enjoyed hot or old and as a base for many recipes. There are several types of celery soup -- so calories will vary depending on your choice of added ingredients.

Types

Cream of celery soup comes as a condensed canned soup, as a dry mix or made from scratch in your kitchen. According to All Recipes and Taste of Home, most homemade celery soup recipes take less than an hour to complete.

Store Bought Soup

Cream of celery soup is available in your local grocery store, often with several brands to chose from. The low fat or heart-healthy versions include 70 calories per serving as compared to the regular condensed soup, which contains 98 calories per serving. A 1/2 cup is the standard serving size. A dry mix cream of celery soup has 101 calories per 1 oz. of unprepared soup, according to Calorie King.

Homemade

All Recipes and Taste of Home offer one recipe each for cream of celery soup. The All Recipes version takes 40 minutes to make and has 126 calories. The Taste of Home celery soup recipe requires 25 minutes to make and provides 144 calories. Both recipes use one cup as a serving size.
