Two oz. of Swiss cheese contains 216 calories. A salad made with these ingredients contains 153.5 calories.

Types

A salad with cheese can be made with different types of lettuce and cheese. Types of lettuce include Romaine, green leaf, red leaf and butterhead. All of these types of lettuce contain fewer calories than iceberg lettuce. Different types of cheese include blue, feta, provolone and American cheese. All of these types of cheese contain fewer calories than Swiss cheese.

To make a salad with cheese that is very low in calories, choose red leaf lettuce and feta cheese for your salad. Red leaf lettuce contains four calories per cup. There are 150 calories in 2 oz. of feta cheese.
