Walkers, including the Airofit Exercise Walker, burn a fairly low number of calories per hour, though the number is comparable to actual walking at a moderate pace. The Airofit Exercise Walker is low-impact exercise though, with your feet sliding on the feet pedals instead of hitting the ground as when walking. These machines are also known as gliders.

Walker Vs. Walking

Using a walker machine burns up 295 to 330 calories per hour, says fitness consultant Kelly Marshall, MSc, CPT, on NutraCheck.co.uk. Brisk walking burns approximately 224 to 354 calories in an hour depending on weight ranging from 130 lbs. to 205 lbs., according to NutriStrategy.com.

Factors

Your weight, resting metabolism, gender and intensity all play a role in how many calories you actually burn. Estimates are based on averages and there is no way to know for sure how many calories you personally will burn, but estimates can give you a ballpark figure to work from. If you aren't losing weight, you can increase your time and/or intensity.

Weight Loss

If you're looking to use your Airofit Exercise Walker to lose weight, keep in mind that you must burn 3,500 calories to lose 1 lb. of fat. Those calories must be excess calories. MayoClinic.com recommends a minimum of 2.5 hours of moderate aerobic exercise per week. Using your Airofit can count toward that goal, but you will likely have to exceed this amount if you want to lose weight.
