Roughly six miles north of downtown, Lakeview is a Chicago neighborhood that welcomes you to socialize and get exercise by bowling in an urban environment. Known for attracting young professionals, the neighborhood offers you a diverse range of restaurants and shops that are within close proximity of downtown Chicago. The area of Lakeview is bordered by Diversey Parkway in the south to Addison Street in the north. Lakeview's border also runs from Lake Michigan to the east to the Chicago River that flows near Interstate 90/94 to the west. Bowling in Lakeview places you next to the Chicago neighborhoods of Lincoln Park to the south and Irvine Park to the north, which is home to Wrigley Field.

Bowling Alleys

Lakeview presents you with the option of bowling at Diversey River Bowl on Diversey Avenue or Southport Lanes and Billiards on Southport Avenue. Diversey River Bowl is a 36-lane bowling alley that offers you music, lights and a video arcade. Southport Lanes and Billiards is a retro bowling alley where the pins are hand-set, with the option of you booking the private party room that has four bowling lanes and a pool table.

Light Shows

Rock-n-Bowl combines bowling and a club atmosphere to provide you with a bowling experience that includes music and a light show. Diversey River Bowl has rock-n-bowl during the evenings on weekends, which is designed to provide you with concert sound and lighting. From black lights and lasers to virtual scenery, rock-n-bowl at Diversey River Lanes has a sound system that lets you feel the beats of the music.

Pro Shops

Visiting a pro shop allows you to purchase a custom-fit bowling ball, accessories or to have your existing equipment serviced. Next to lane 36 in Diversey River Bowl, Action Pro Shop sells bowling balls, bags, shoes and accessories. Action Pro Shop also offers you such services as sanding, polishing, resurfacing, custom fittings and private bowling lessons.

Amenities

Additional features of Lakeview bowling alleys to help you feel more comfortable encompass pool tables, video arcades, bars and restaurants with healthy dining options. Diversey River Bowl offers you soups, salads, wraps and a healthy choices section of their menu that features sandwiches. Southport Lanes menu ranges from offering you fish tacos to an extensive list of salads.

Considerations

While bowling alleys are open until the early morning hours, normally discounted bowling prices are offered if you bowl from noon to 5 p.m. If you are interested in booking any type of group party, Diversey River Bowl arranges rock-n-bowl parties for groups. Southport Lanes allows you to choose from bar rooms, the pool room or the private bowling room that can accommodate up to 85 people.
