Smoking and excess sun exposure can accelerate this occurrence, according to CNN Health. Although treatment creams to fight wrinkles are available for purchase, you can fight wrinkles at home using common household items. Through frequent application, you can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and appear younger.

Sleep on Your Back

Your sleep position can accelerate the development of wrinkles, according to “The Doctors Book of Home Remedies.” If you regularly sleep on your stomach, change the position to sleeping on your back, which keeps skin from pulling forward. If it's difficult to change sleeping positions, you can attach a tennis ball to your stomach while sleeping. When you attempt to roll to your stomach, the discomfort of your tennis ball can help you to avoid sleeping on your stomach.

Give Yourself a Daily Facial Massage

Flaxseed oil, emu oil or aloe vera gel are moisturizing oils that can be applied to the face daily in order to plump the skin. Combine this application with a facial massage to boost wrinkle-fighting benefits. Rub the castor oil between your hands and use your fingertips, thumbs and palms of the hand to rub the oil into your skin, according to “The Doctors Book of Home Remedies.” Pay careful attention to areas where you may experience wrinkling, such as the smile lines, forehead and sides of the eyes. Do not, however, perform facial muscle exercises while massaging the skin. This can increase wrinkles, according to Newsweek.com.

Apply Pineapple to the Face

This colorful citrus fruit contains citric acid, which can be used to exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells, according to WholeLiving.com. You can apply a pineapple slice or chunk directly to the face -- don’t forget to remove the peel -- in order to remove dead skin cells that can exaggerate the presence of wrinkles. To lift dead skin cells, mix equal parts green pineapple and apple juice and dipping a cotton swab or ball into the mixture. Apply this to areas where you experience wrinkles, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse it with warm water. Performing this twice per day can help to fight skin wrinkling.
