Good kidney health is important for overall health because kidneys are responsible for filtering the body's waste. If the kidneys are not functioning properly, the body's waste is not adequately filtered, leading to a buildup of toxins in the body. Cranberry juice contains flavonoids that attack the bacteria that adhere to the tubules in the kidneys and lining of the urinary tract. Juicing allows you to enjoy cranberry juice at home without any extra additives or sweeteners.
Step 1
Rinse 3 cups of cranberries and pat them dry with a paper towel. If you would prefer cranberry apple juice as opposed to pure cranberry juice, also rinse, dry and cut an apple into quarters. Three cups of cranberries will make approximately 1 cup of juice.
Step 2
Plug in and power on the juicer. Place a glass in front of the juicer to catch the juice.
Step 3
Feed the cranberries, and apple if you are using it, slowly into the juicer.
Step 4
Turn off the juicer and drink the cranberry juice. "Foundations of Nursing" suggests drinking two glasses of cranberry juice daily for optimal kidney and urinary tract health.
