Peanut butter bread is a healthful amalgam of high quality proteins, heart-healthy fats and both complex and simple carbohydrates. The quick breads are sweeter but only one has more calories than the yeast bread. All are uncomplicated, low-cost and flavorful.

Moderate Calories in Quick Bread

Food Network's Peanut Butter Bread, a quick bread, has 140 calories per slice, or 1/16 of the loaf. The entire loaf contains 2,255 calories, from adding the 1,062 calories from 2 cups flour, 307 calories from 1/3 cup sugar, 219 calories from 1 1/2 cups milk and 667 calories from 1/2 cup peanut butter.

A Richer Quick Bread

AllRecipes' Peanut Butter Bread, also a quick bread, has more sugar and more peanut butter, too, yielding richer slices at 202 calories each, or 1/16 of the loaf. The entire loaf totals 3247 calories: 796 from 1 1/2 cups flour, 300 from 1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats, 921 from 1 cup sugar, 1000 from 3/4 cup chunky peanut butter, 84 from 1 egg and 146 from 1 cup milk.

Yeast-Based Peanut Butter Bread

The yeast-based peanut butter bread's calories fall between those of the two quick breads. AllRecipes' Peanut Butter Bread "1" yields 1 loaf, with 209 calories per 1/15 of the loaf. To compare with the quick breads, a 1/16 slice of this yeast loaf would yield 196 calories. It does not contain the quick breads' milk or eggs, but has twice the flour and about the same amount of peanut butter.
