Acai berry is a fruit grown on palm trees in Central and South America. Acai berry is a purplish black fruit that is approximately one inch in diameter. According to "Public Health Forums.com," these berries have some of the richest content of antioxidants in the world. Antioxidants are natural ingredients found in foods that help the body in slowing the aging process, fighting cancer cells, and helping to prevent metabolic diseases. While acai berry products have become popular in the last few years, you should consult a medical doctor before attempting to treat or prevent disease and illness with alternative products.

Acai Edge is made from the acai berry. Also known as Acai Berry Edge, it claims to help people lose weight, increase skin quality, help with constipation, increase energy, and detoxify your body. It is sold in pill form and is intended to be a dietary supplement.

Benefits
The main benefit for both pills is weight loss. According to "Public Health Forums.com" other benefits include increased energy, more efficient digestion and healthier skin.
Considerations
Acai berry has become a lightning rod for scams on the internet. Acai berry was profiled on Oprah as a berry high in nutrients that could provide long lasting health benefits. Since then many fake websites have risen to try and trick consumers into thinking acai berry and other acai berry products are the cure for all that ails them. Although acai berry was discussed on Oprah Winfrey's TV show, it was never endorsed by her or Dr. Oz. In August of 2009, her production company, Harpo Inc., filed a lawsuit against 40 internet marketing companies that claimed Oprah endorsed acai berry. Before you purchase in acai berry products you should seek the advice of a medical doctor.
