The Cybergenics Diet is a weight loss plan that is targeted to athletes and bodybuilders and is focused on the proportion of carbohydrates to proteins consumed in a given day. According to the Cybergenics website, the program is "accelerated" through the use of Quick Trim, a supplement that is said to enhance metabolism. The diet consists of four small meals per day, eaten about three hours apart. Talk to your doctor prior to beginning any weight loss program.

Diet Goals and Caloric Intake

The Cybergenics website states that when calculating your goal weight and calorie allotment, you should be "realistic" and should never eat fewer than 800 calories per day. The diet bases calorie intake around a minimum goal weight of 145 pounds, for which the dieter is advised to consume 800 calories per day. According to the website, the 145-pound model should be used even if your goal is to weigh less than 145 pounds. Consult with your doctor about the safety of very low calorie diets.

Calculating Protein Intake

The calculations involved in arriving at your daily calorie counts are based on your acceptable amounts of protein and carbohydrates. The Cybergenics website notes that you should eat 1g of protein for every lb. of your goal body weight. Therefore, a person seeking to weigh 145 lbs. should eat 145g of protein per day. Distributed across four meals, this equals 36g of protein per meal. The Cybergenics website notes that while it's acceptable to eat slightly less protein than is specified in this requirement, you should avoid eating more. Be sure you stay within the 800 calories or more range.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are calculated in a somewhat stricter fashion than protein, as the Cybergenics Diet Plan fluctuates between "low carb days" and "high carb days." On high carb days, the diet allows you to eat in grams of carbs a total of 1/2 of your goal body weight. Therefore, using the sample weight of 145 lbs., you can eat about 72g of carbs. On a low carb day, you are allowed 1/4 your goal weight in grams of carbs. If your goal is to weight 145 lbs., you would eat about 36g of carbohydrates on a low-carb day.

Quick Trim

The line of Quick Trim supplements appears to be a key aspect of the Cybergenics diet plan, and these supplements are reportedly endorsed by reality TV star Kim Kardashian. According to U.S. News and World Report, these diet supplements contain ingredients of questionable quality and safety, including laxatives, caffeine, and various other stimulant ingredients. You should discuss the safety of this type of diet supplement with your doctor.

Exercise

The website for the Cybergenics Diet Plan does not appear to stress a regular cardiovascular workout program. Given the fact that the calorie count for this diet can go as low as 800 calories, it may not be feasible that you would be able to exercise regularly. For long-term, healthy weight loss and an optimal metabolism, it is important to exercise regularly.
