Sencha green tea is a Japanese green tea with a sweet flavor, according to "Techniques of Healthy Cooking." Sencha has needle shaped leaves that can leave the tea with a bitter taste if not brewed for the proper amount of time, according to "Making Plant Medicine." However, with a bit of practice and patience you can learn how to properly brew a cup of Sencha green tea.
Step 1
Boil 3 cups of water in a teapot.
Step 2
Pour 1 cup of water into a mug to warm it.
Step 3
Add 1 ½ tsp. Sencha tea to the teapot. Set a timer for three minutes.
Step 4
Discard the water in the mug when the timer alarms and pour the Sencha tea into mug.
