Parasites can be picked up from food, soil, water or other people. Symptoms include diarrhea, constipation, gas, irritable bowel syndrome, itchy anus, anemia, skin rashes, pain, nervousness, difficulty sleeping, fatigue and allergies. According to Dr. Mehmet Oz, certain herbs and foods can minimize symptoms and eliminate parasites and their eggs. Ask your physician for a complete parasitic panel if you suspect parasites.

Wormwood Tincture

Wormwood tincture contains extracts of wormwood bark that paralyzes and kills parasites and their eggs. It also contains black walnut extract, which works as a mild laxative to help with the elimination of the parasites. Quassia, male fern, and cloves may be added to this tincture to enhance its effects and help control fungal infections and excess mucous, which can be instigated by parasitic infections. Ask an herbalist or visit a health food store for wormwood tincture.

Garlic

Garlic, especially when eaten raw, is recommended as a natural remedy to treat parasites like roundworms and pinworms according to the University of Maryland. Raw garlic can also be used against giardia, which is one of the more serious types of parasites, called a protozoa. Garlic contains an enzyme that kills many types of bacteria, even those resistant to antibiotics, according to the "The Journal of Nutrition." It is most effective when eaten on an empty stomach. It can be intense for beginners, so start by eating a small portion of a clove before lunch and dinner and work your way up to a full medium-sized clove before each meal. You can also use raw garlic as an enema. Chop one clove and boil it for 10 minutes in 250ml of water. After it cools down, draw the garlic water into the enema container and use it as a retention enema.

Papaya Seeds and Honey

The University of Maryland reports of a study showing that papaya seeds and honey eliminated parasites in 23 of 30 subjects. Drinking a large amount of water is helpful when using this treatment. Pumpkin seeds, pomegranates, carrots and beets are also suggested foods to eat when fighting parastites.
