Ingredients

The most important thing to look at on a nutrition label is the ingredient list. This will give you specific information as to the quality of the food you are eating, unlike the caloric breakdown. The ingredient list of a Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg is as follows: sugar; milk; chocolate; cocoa butter; lactose; soy lecithin; PGPR, emulsifier; natural and artificial flavor.

Understanding the Label

The nutrition label shows the bulk of the calories in the Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg come from sugar, followed by fats, most of which are saturated and come from the milk in the chocolate. The ingredient list shows this chocolate is made without trans fats, but replaces some of the cocoa butter with soy, PGPR and other emulsifiers to keep the consistency similar to that of pure milk chocolate which would contain only the first five ingredients.
