The Liposlim Diet is a three-pronged weight loss system developed by Absolute Nutrition, a weight-loss and fat-loss product manufacturer. The Liposlim Diet requires ingestion of three types of diet pills including C-Block, a carbohydrate blocker, F-Block, a fat blocker and No-Phedra, a fat burner. As of November 2010, each product that makes up the Liposlim system is only being sold separately on Absolute Nutrition's website. However, it is still available as a complete system on multiple weight-loss and supplement websites.
C-Block Caplets
C-Block is a carbohydrate blocker caplet designed to be used with a low-glycemic carbohydrate diet. C-Block does not contain stimulants, ephedra or caffeine, according to Absolute Nutrition. Dieters are instructed to take two C-Block caplets 15 minutes before consuming a starchy meal. The 700mg of Trim Plex contained in the caplets is supposed to inhibit starch absorption. Absolute Nutrition warns that Trim Plex is derived from kidney beans so individuals with bean allergies should not use C-Block.
F-Block Capsules
F-Block fat absorber capsules contain 500mg of chitosan per capsule, and is supposed to bind to fatty acids and prevent fat absorption by the body. According to Absolute Nutrition, two F-Block capsules should be taken 15 minutes prior to meal consumption. Absolute also states that chitosan is made with shellfish exoskeletons, so individuals with shellfish allergies should not use F-block. For best results, dieters are encouraged to reduce their total fat consumption to 15 to 30 percent of their daily caloric intake.
No-Phedra Capsules
No-Phedra is a thermogenic weight-loss capsule designed to help dieters burn fat and lose weight. No-Phedra claims to provide energy and suppress appetite without causing nervousness, insomnia or the jitters. The active ingredients included in No-Phedra are Green Tea Leaves Extract, Advantra-Z, Guarana, L-Tyrosine, Flavonex-Er, Forslean and 5-Hydroxytryptophan. According to the Absolute Nutrition website, dieters are instructed to take two capsules, two to three times daily.
Cost
The Absolute Nutrition website sells the three components of Liposlim separately, so the cost can be expensive depending on how often you take the capsules. As of November 2010, C-Block costs $29.50 for a 90-caplet bottle, F-Block is $23.95 per 90-capsule bottle and an 80-capsule bottle of No-Phedra costs $24.95. Dieters who take the diet pills two to three times daily, as instructed, may need to replace their supply often, inflating the total cost of sustaining the diet.
Warning
According to FatBurners.org, one of the Liposlim products C-Block, contains vanadium, a potentially harmful trace element. The Centers for Disease Control Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry warns that exposure to high levels of vanadium can cause harmful health effects. The Agency reported that animals that ingested large amounts of vanadium died, pregnant animals had babies with minor birth defects and some had minor kidney and liver problems. The Agency advises dieters to consult their doctor before taking supplements containing vanadium.
