Visualization can be used to lose weight and help you achieve your weight loss goals. The mind is the most powerful organ in the body, and thoughts and emotions play an important role in motivation. Thinking positive thoughts on how to achieve weight loss goals and how you look afterward triggers the subconscious to change your body into a slimmer you.

Step 1

Visualize two to three times per day. Before you get out of bed in the morning or go to sleep at night, visualize how you want your body to look after you lose weight. View yourself as being healthy and happy now that you have lost weight. Do not think about how you look now and disregard any negative thoughts you have about your current appearance. It is important to set aside time each day for visualization.

Step 2

Visualize eating healthy foods and exercising. Feel the enjoyment of eating healthy, low fat foods. Visualize how energetic you feel after a vigorous walk or exercise routine. After doing this take notice of how you really do feel when eating healthy and exercising.

Step 3

Visualize shopping for new clothes or doing activities that you can now do as a slimmer, healthier version of you. See yourself having fun with your family and friends and feel the love and respect they have for you in your success. See family and friends complementing you on your weight loss and how that makes you feel like a winner.

Step 4

Use different scenarios each day during your visualization time. Construct an activity like your favorite exercise and focus on how the new slimmer you looks and feels while doing this activity. Focus on this activity for your two to three visualizations for that day. Once you have conquered the visualization of one activity, move on to the next positive activity for your visualization sessions.

Step 5

Remain positive and do not sabotage yourself by thinking negative thoughts about how you cannot lose that much weight or that visualization does not work. The key is to keep your mind and subconscious thinking positive. If you have a bad day by not eating right or exercising, visualize yourself getting back on track for the next day.
