How to Program a Phoenix 99605 Exercise Bike

The Phoenix 99605 upright magnetic bike offers a non-weightbearing, low-impact workout option that you can do in the comfort of your own home. You adjust the eight levels of magnetic resistance using a knob on the upright tube. The console provides information about the distance covered, elapsed time, approximate number of calories burned, speed and pulse rate. The front legs of the machine have wheels so you can move the bike to a storage area when you're not using it.

Step 1

Install two AA batteries into the battery compartment on the back of the console.

Step 2

Power on the machine by pressing any button on the console or by pedaling.

Step 3

Program the desired workout settings. You can preset the time, distance, calories or pulse. Once you have reached your target setting, the alarm will sound. Phoenix recommends only setting one of these items. If more than one item is set, the first to reach the preset value will sound the alarm. Press the "Mode" button until the appropriate setting flashes. Repeatedly press the "Set" button until the desired value is displayed. Start pedaling. The monitor will begin counting down.

Step 4

Preset the time, distance and and calories within these parameters. Set the time of your workout between 0 and 99 hours, 59 minutes. Set the distance of your workout between 0 and 999 miles. Set the target calories between 0 and 999 calories.

Step 5

Check your pulse. Place your hands on both of the pulse sensors. Wait 30 seconds for the most accurate reading. When your heart rate reaches the preset value, the display will continuously flash, but the alarm will not sound.
