Only 9 percent of Americans eat a healthy diet that meets suggested dietary intakes, according to Vanderbilt University. That's because most Americans do not eat enough fruits and vegetables. If you are having trouble getting all the suggested intakes of vitamins and minerals a vitamin supplement may be beneficial for you. Natural Nutrition is a provider of health supplements out of Copiague, New York. Natural Nutrition specializes in natural health products and sports nutrition. The company provides amino acids, herbal supplements, minerals and vitamin packages to help the population meet their dietary goals.

Perfectly Balanced

Perfectly Balanced by Natural Nutrition is the adult multivitamin. Perfectly Balanced provided an abundance of vitamins and minerals that the body needs to function. The multivitamin contains vitamins A, D, E, and C. The multivitamin also has a B-vitamin complex extracted from spirulina, chlorella, wheat grass, sprouted barley and bee pollen. Perfectly Balanced also possesses the minerals calcium, potassium, manganese, iodine, selenium and boron. There are also amino acids, such as lipase, that aid in the breakdown of nutrients; and healthy bacteria, such as acidophilus, that help the digestive system. It is suggested to take the multivitamin 3 times daily with food and water so that all the vitamins can be synthesized effectively within the body.

Water Soluble Vitamins

Natural Nutrition provides various B and C vitamin packages. These include vitamin B-6, vitamin C with rosehips and bioflavonoids, vitamin B-12 lozenges, vitamin B-50 complex and vitamin C with zinc. These vitamins should be taken with water so that the body can absorb and utilize them. Vitamin B-6 supplements will help with chemical balance in the tissues and blood, help regulate glucose levels in the blood and act as a enzyme for metabolic activities in the body. Vitamin C and zinc will help support your immune system and vitamin C is an effective antioxidant against free radicals, according to the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University. Rosehips are merely the plants the vitamin C was extracted from which also contain the bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids are plant compounds that help prevent the oxidation of vitamin C and thereby allow vitamin C to be more effective for longer time periods. Vitamin B-12 will aide in growth, cell development and metabolizes amino and fatty acids. The B-50 complex contains the B-vitamins B-1, B-2, B-6, B-12, biotin, folic acid, and pantothenic acid. These vitamins are involved with nearly all metabolic activity in the body, cell growth and energy absorption.

The prenatal vitamin contains high amounts of folic acid which assist nervous system development in the fetus. Folic acid serves as a coenzyme for the creation of DNA, and is involved with the reproduction and growth of body cells.
