The number of calories you can burn while rocking out to your favorite band depends largely on the amount of jumping, cheering and dancing you perform. Dancing for an hour at a high-energy show can burn upwards of 400 calories per hour.

Measuring by Weight

One important variable is your weight. For example, a 130-lb. person dancing for an hour would burn around 280 calories; a 200-lb. person would burn even more -- approximately 430 calories each hour -- while dancing at a moderate pace.

According to the Fit Sugar website, the number of calories you burn while enjoying a concert depends on the type of music. Rocking out at a hip hop show can allow you to burn upwards of 400 calories per hour. Dancing to swing music will burn approximately 300 calories per hour.

Keep in mind that as you lose weight, you'll burn slightly fewer calories. So, try to keep a positive attitude, and remember that many different activities can help you stay in shape.
