How to Set a Pedometer

A pedometer is a device that is placed on the waistband. It calculates how far a person walks or runs during an exercise session. The pedometer can also be worn all day long to calculate how many steps are taken, allowing for the analysis of daily physical activity. The pedometer is configured to calculate activity through stride length and weight.

Step 1

Turn on the pedometer to begin the configurations. Click the "Mode" button to set the standards to kilograms or pounds. Once you have selected the standard, click the "Set" button.

Step 2

Click the "Set" button for two seconds to set the time. Use the "Mode" button to change the time settings. Once you have set the time, click the "Set" button again.

Step 3

Set the pedometer's weight configurations. Use the "Mode" button to set the weight between 70 to 250 lbs. Once the weight is set, click the "Set" button again.

Step 4

Measure your stride length using the tape measure. Stand straight up and take one step forward. Hold your position and measure the distance between the heal and toe of the two feet. This calculates the stride length.

Step 5

Hold the "Set" button on the pedometer for two seconds and use the "Mode" button to set the stride length measured in Step 4. Press the "Set" button again to save the configurations.

Step 6

Attach the pedometer to your waist and test its functionality. For every step taken, the pedometer should calculate a step.
