Snickers is a popular candy bar manufactured by Mars, Incorporated. The company was originally started in the Tacoma, Washington kitchen of a man named Frank Mars, and it is now composed of six global divisions. The chocolate used in their candy is made with 100 percent cocoa butter. The cocoa powder milled from dried cocoa butter is mixed with milk and sugar to make the chocolate. Snickers bars are available in several sizes, including King Size.

Calories

The serving size for a King Size Snickers bar is 1/3 of a bar, or 35 g, according to Mars. Each serving contains 170 calories, or 9 percent of the daily value percentage. However, most people do not split a candy bar into parts; instead, they eat the entire bar in one sitting. The entire bar has 510 calories. This makes a King Size Snickers bar a rather high calorie treat that is best enjoyed in moderation.

Fat

Each serving of a King Size Snickers bar contains 8 g of total fat, with 70 calories per serving being derived from fat, according to DietFacts.com. This means that there are 24 g of total fat in one bar. There are no trans fats in a King Size Snickers, but one serving does have 3 g of saturated fat, or 9 g of saturated fat per bar. The American Heart Association advises following some guidelines for daily fat intake. They recommend keeping fats to 25 to 35 percent of the total calories ingested daily. They also recommend limiting saturated fats to fewer than 7 percent of daily calories.The remainder of the fats in Snickers bars are the healthier monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.

Carbohydrates

The label lists 21 g of carbohydrates in each serving of King Size Snickers, meaning the entire bar has 63 g of carbohydrates. The amount of sugar (a type of carbohydrate) listed is 18 g per serving, or 54 g for the whole candy bar. The body does not need to ingest sugar in order to function properly, according to the American Heart Association (AHA). As a result, sugar does not have any nutritional value and there are no daily requirements for it. The AHA recommends that adults consume no more than 100 to 150 calories per day in sugar.

Sodium

A King Size Snickers candy bar also contains 85 mg of sodium in each serving, which amounts to 255 mg for the entire candy. Sodium is an essential nutrient required by the body for proper functioning of the nerves, muscles and fluid balance, but it is not needed in large amounts. The website MayoClinic.com recommends that adults limit their daily intake of salt to 1500 to 2300 mg, depending on the health of the individual.

Protein

Snickers bars contain peanuts, which provide a bit of protein. There are 3 g of protein in each serving of a King Size Snickers, or 9 g in the entire bar. Peanuts are one of the most common food allergies, and Mars, Incorporated states that there is an allergy warning for peanuts listed on every Snickers label.
