Losing weight begins with living a healthier life. Creating a healthy lifestyle requires incorporating healthy food into your daily diet. Fruits are low in calories and full of important nutrients making them a natural, healthy choice. You can consume a lot of fruit and eat it often without adding lots of fat and calories to your diet, promoting weight loss.

Antioxidant-Rich Berries

Certain fruits offer more nutrients than others. Antioxidant-rich berries, like strawberries, blueberries and raspberries can help increase metabolism and decrease appetite, putting them at the top of the list for dieters. Antioxidants work to stop damage to disease-fighting cells and are believed to help prevent heart disease, cancer, and slow down the aging process. A diet full of antioxidents contributes to overall weight loss and a decrease in body fat percentage.

Fibrous Fruits

Fruits that are high in fiber provide satiety and take more time to digest, leaving you feeling full longer. Apples, grapefruit, oranges and pears are all low in calories and carbohydrates. These fruits are a good source of vitamin C, which helps keep bones strong and skin healthy. Fiberous fruits also provide good energy and contain a large amount of water, allowing you to eat plenty without accumulating calories.

Melons

Cantaloupe and watermelon are high in potassium, which is important in controlling blood pressure. They also provide folate in order to create healthy new cells. Melons are rich in vitamin A and honeydew melons in particular are rich in vitamin C. All three melons are high in water content, provide a decent dose of fiber and are very low in calories, making them an excellent dietary choice for promoting weight loss. The sweet taste of melons can give you the satisfaction of dessert without indulging in fattening foods.
