Eating crispy, crunchy, toasted whole-grain clusters with cranberries and wild blueberries for breakfast is a delicious way to start any day. On the other hand, maybe clusters of whole grains with almonds and flaxseeds with a touch of honey can sweeten your morning. When you add in protein and fiber, natural sweeteners and dried fruit, Kashi GoLean would be a healthy addition to any diet.

Varieties and Serving Size

Naturally sweetened and full of protein and fiber, all of the Kashi GoLean cereals contain a mixture of seven whole grains and sesame. Kashi GoLean comes in four varieties: Crunch, Toasted Berry Crumble, Honey Almond Flax and Original. One serving of Original, Honey Almond Flax or Crunch equals 1 cup and a single serving of Toasted Berry Crumble is ¾ cup.

Calories, Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium and Potassium

A single serving of Kashi GoLean Original breakfast cereal has 140 calories, 1 g fat, 85 mg sodium and 480 mg potassium. Kashi GoLean Crunch has 190 calories, 3 g fat, 100 mg sodium and 300 mg potassium. Toasted Berry Crumble has 180 calories, 3.5 g total fat, 1 g polyunsaturated fat, 2 g monounsaturated fat, 125 mg sodium and 250 mg potassium. Honey Almond Flax has 200 calories, 4.5 g fat, 140 mg sodium and 260 mg potassium. All of the flavors are cholesterol-free.

Carbohydrates

One serving of Kashi GoLean Original has 30 g carbohydrates, 10 g dietary fiber -- 1 g soluble fiber and 9 g insoluble fiber -- and 6 g sugars. GoLean Crunch has 37 g carbohydrates and 8 g dietary fiber, with 3 g soluble fiber and 5 g insoluble fiber. Toasted Berry Crumble has 35 g carbohydrates, 8 g dietary fiber -- 5 g soluble fiber and 3 g insoluble fiber -- and 10 g sugars. Honey Almond Flax has 36 g carbohydrates, 8 g dietary fiber -- 4 g soluble fiber and 4 g insoluble fiber -- and 12 g sugars.

Protein

One serving of Kashi GoLean Original has 13 g protein. GoLean Crunch and Honey Almond Flax each have 9 g protein per 1-cup serving. Toasted Berry Crumble has 9 g protein per ¾-cup serving.

Vitamins and Minerals

Kashi GoLean Crunch offer 4 percent of the daily value for calcium and 10 percent of the daily value for phosphorus, iron and magnesium. Toasted Berry Crumble offers 4 percent for calcium, 8 percent for iron, 10 percent for magnesium and 15 percent for phosphorus. Honey Almond flax offers 8 percent of the daily value for iron, and GoLean Original breakfast cereal offers 6 percent of the daily value for calcium, 10 percent for iron and 20 percent for phosphorus.

Ingredients

All four flavors of Kashi GoLean cereals contain Kashi's seven whole grains and sesame blend. Each flavor may include additional ingredients, such as whole-grain oats, cornmeal, cornflour, soy protein concentrate, wheat bran, oat fiber, corn bran, dried wild blueberries, cranberries, honey, evaporated cane juice crystals, brown rice syrup, salt, chicory root fiber, pressed canola oil, cinnamon, natural flavors and mixed tocopherols, which is natural vitamin E for freshness.
