The Special K Challenge is a weight-loss program that combines healthy foods with Special K products, and you can track your progress online. Getting Started

When you are ready to start the Special K Challenge, you can sign up for an account at Special K's website and receive a daily menu plan. The program suggests meals based on the plan you choose, and you can choose the Classic Plan, the Mix-It-Up Plan, the Chocolate Lover's Plan or the On-the-Go Plan. Once you receive your meal plan, you can modify it if you want by substituting individual meals or snacks.

Special K Meals

Twice a day on the Special K diet, you replace a regular meal with a Special K cereal, protein shake or protein meal bar. Some of the varieties of cereal are original, red berries, protein plus and vanilla almond. Protein shakes come in chocolate, French vanilla and strawberry, and protein meal bars come in honey almond, strawberry or vanilla flavors. Each Special K meal provides about 200 calories and the products are fortified with vitamins and minerals.

Sensible Meal

The Special K Challenge includes a sensible meal, which is your only meal each day from real food. You can decide which meal it will be. The instructions say that you get to choose what to eat, as long as the foods are healthy and portions are not too big. Special K provides several recipes including Open-Faced Roast Beef Sandwich, Mediterranean Turkey Sandwich and Cheese Ravioli with Chunky Marinara Sauce as a vegetarian option.

Snack And Beverages

You eat two Special K snacks each day, and choices include protein cereal bars, protein snack bars, fruit crisps and multigrain or savory herb crackers. Each snack provides about 100 calories. Fresh fruits and vegetables can help fill you up while you are on the Special K diet, and you can have as many servings as you want every day. You should also drink as much as you want of noncaloric beverages.

Considerations

The Special K Challenge can help you lose weight by limiting the amount of calories you eat, and you can lose weight faster by burning calories through exercise. The challenge recommends making exercise a daily habit, and you can choose activities that you enjoy.
