Weslo manufactures low-cost treadmills, ellipticals and exercise bikes, billing themselves as a company that offers "fitness for real people." As of November 2010, according to the Weslo website, the company currently produces 11 exercise bike models.

Description

Welso exercise bikes are stationary bikes that are ridden in an indoor, unmoving location. Weslo manufactures four upright models, where users sit on a seat in a position not unlike bikes ridden outdoors. Weslo also makes seven recumbent models, where you lean back into a chair and pedal with your legs in front of you. Each model has an adjustable seat, while some models have pedals with adjustable straps, variable resistance settings and an electronic screen upon which you can track your workout progress.

Function

Weslo exercise bikes, like all exercise bikes, provide you with the opportunity to get an excellent aerobic workout in a no-impact environment, according to the Beginner Triathlete website in "Beginner Cycling Training Program --- Month 1." Weslo exercise bikes offer workout convenience and comfort, because you can use them at home or in a gym within a climate-controlled environment.

Many reviewers find that the bikes are able to adjust the Weslo exercise bikes so that they are comfortable for use. The largest complaint revealed in some Internet reviews of Weslo exercise bikes is a lack of durability.

Cost

As of November 2011, the cost of the 11 different models varies from $99 to $249. The Weslo Pursuit E 25 exercise bike, which retails for $99, is the most simple upright model available, while the Weslo Pursuit R 4.8, which retails for $249, is the most advanced recumbent model available. Cost increased based upon each how much each model adjusts and its number of features.

Warning

The use of a Weslo exercise bike can be strenuous and should only be undertaken under the supervision of a doctor. Incorporate the use of a Weslo exercise bike into your fitness routine slowly and steadily so that you acclimate to the workout's challenges without injury. If you experience pain, including chest pain, while using a Weslo exercise bike, stop using it and seek medical assistance.
