Calcium deposits can occur on the skin or inside your body. The most common places are under the eyelids and on your rotator cuff, although they can occur elsewhere. While calcium deposits on the skin don't pose any problems, deposits on bones or other moving parts inside your body can cause a nagging pain. Calcium deposits on the bone can harden over time, eventually becoming part of the bone if left untreated.

Step 1

Determine where the calcium deposit is. If it's on the surface, you can sometimes remove the deposit on your own. If it is internal, you will have to get help.

Step 2

Gently pinch an exterior calcium deposit with your fingernails or tweezers. Some individuals with calcium deposits barely under their skin can get rid of a calcium deposit the same way pimples are popped. Stop if the pain gets too intense. You can also try poking the deposit with a needle.

Step 3

Apply oral treatments such as a numbing gel to an exterior calcium deposit. Some of these products prove effective at breaking up calcium deposits.

Step 4

Apply an ice pack to the calcium deposit if it is causing pain.

Step 5

Have a massage therapist try to break up the calcium deposits on your bones with a massage. The success rate varies based on the location of the deposits, but the more accessible the deposit is from the surface, the more likely the massage will be successful.

Step 6

Consider arthroscopic surgery to remove the deposit. If a massage fails, it is your only option.
