List of BPA-Free Baby Bottles

Research findings released to the public in 2008 sent mothers in droves to the store to purchase new bottles. It was found that some plastic baby bottles contain bisphenol-A, a chemical that can be leached into the baby's milk when the bottle is heated. Although an article in the New York Times admitted that there is no research to suggest that bisphenol-A is harmful to babies, other studies have linked it to breast cancer. In any case, it is better to be safe than sorry. Choose BPA-free bottles from your favorite manufacturers.

Wee Go Glass Bottles

Wee Go Glass Bottles skip the plastic altogether for a safe bottle that is absolutely BPA-free. While you may be nervous that a glass bottle would break, especially after your toddler has tossed it out of the stroller one too many times, the Wee Go Glass Bottles are covered in a sturdy silicone that can be removed for washing and customized in a variety of colors.

Green to Go Bottles

Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Glass Bottles

Dr. Brown bottles have been a cult favorite among mothers who are nursing but supplementing with bottles. They are also good for colicky babies who have problems with gas, as the flow valve makes air bubbles less likely. Moms can now find their favorite Dr. Brown bottles made from glass to protect their babies from BPA ridden plastics.

Gerber Clear View bottles come in a variety of colors, and cost as much as 25 percent less than their BPA-free counterparts. The bottles are made from polypropylene, a BPA free plastic that is durable and can be colored for the fashion conscious mom.

ThinkBaby Bottles

ThinkBaby has created bottles that they claim are free of BPA as well as of lead, phthalates or nitrosamines. They come in 5- to 9-oz. sizes, and are equipped with a venting system that is supposed to help babies reduce their intake of gas while feeding.

Medela is more commonly known for their breast pumps and storage systems. But you can also get a BPA-free plastic bottle from them to add to your feeding system, making the breast pumping and feeding procedure easier and more convenient.
