Body by Jake Firm Flex Workout Instructions

The Body by Jake Firm Flex is a home workout machine that is designed as a resistance training workout for all parts of your body. The machine itself consists of a padded seat and a movable resistance arm and leg press bar. Rubber resistance bands are added to provide the resistance, and the owner's manual claims up to 15 different exercises are possible. Consult your physician before using the Body by Jake Firm Flex.

Step 1

Assemble the Firm Flex according to the instructions that are provided with the unit. Place the machine on a firm and level surface, where it will not slip.

Step 2

Secure the resistance bands in place with the spring clips provided, before you begin each exercise.

Step 3

Remove the locking pin and slide the resistance arm to the proper position for each exercise and replace the pin. The machine features nine different slots for the arm.

Step 4

Attach a resistance band or bands to the upper band mount and sit facing the resistance arm. Adjust so the cushion is at your chest level. Hold the arm with your arms bent and press it downward to work your chest muscles.

Step 5

Place the band or bands in the upper band mount with the cushion at your mid-chest. Move your hips to the front part of the seat and wrap your arms under the resistance arm from underneath. Curl your torso down toward your thighs and contract your abdominals.

Step 6

Bend your arms and place your hands on the resistance arm with your palms down, while sitting on the seat. The band is in the upper mount position. Press the arm downward by straightening your arms, keeping your elbows close to your body. Flex your triceps at the bottom of the movement.

Step 7

Attach bands from the resistance arm to the upper mount and the bands from the leg press to the leg press mounts. Sit in the seat facing the leg press with your upper back on the cushion for support. Place your feet on the leg press bar and press your legs down. Use one leg at a time if you need more of a challenge.

Step 8

Sit in the seat, facing the leg press with the bands in the upper mounts. Position the cushion of the resistance arm along your shoulder blades and lean backward to flex your back.
