How to Lose Weight Fast Before a Wedding

Every bride and groom wants to look his or her best for the big day. Because of increased time commitments and the overall stress of planning a wedding, exercising and making healthy food choices becomes increasingly difficult. Fad diets are often an ineffective approach because they add more chaos to an already hectic schedule. Fortunately there are several steps brides and grooms can take to quickly and easily shed pounds quickly before the big day.

Easy Steps to Lose Weight

Step 1

Drink at least eight, 8 oz. glasses of water per day. The Mayo Clinic recommends this as an effective way to stay hydrated. This is important because water reduces bloating. While it won't result in weight loss (unless water is swapped for high calorie drinks), people who remain hydrated reduce the risk of bloating and appear slimmer.

Step 2

Avoid high sodium foods. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as eliminating the salt shaker. Processed foods contain high levels of sodium all on their own. Instead, purchase fresh ingredients. According to an article titled, "Cut Salt Get Cut" that appeared in Men's Fitness, reducing salt intake is one of the fastest methods to appear slimmer because it reduces bloating.

Step 3

Keep exercising daily. With all of the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, it's tempting to ditch the gym routine. Exercise is crucial during this time because not only does it burn calories, but it also lowers stress. High stress levels can lead to emotional eating which quickly packs on pounds.

Step 4

Cut back on alcohol. Most alcoholic drinks contain a minimum of 100 calories per drink. Not only that, but a hangover cuts time into an already busy schedule.

Step 5

Eat meals sitting down at a table. It's never a good idea to multitask while eating. It causes people to pay less attention to how much they're eating and consume more calories overall.
