How to Get Curves

Sometimes women who work out often get that unfortunately masculine physique because of the exclusion of any type of body fat. For a more feminine shape, a lifted appearance in the hips, bottom and chest can create curves. Similarly, some women want to lose weight but are afraid of losing their curves. You can work areas of your body to create curves or maintain them while exercising.

Step 1

Lift your bottom so it is more perky and has more muscle to mimic roundness. Stand next to a weight bench with your arms at your sides. Hold a medium dumbbell to give you some resistance. Step your right foot up onto the bench, and lengthen your left leg so that it is lifted on the side. Step back down to the floor and tap your right foot. Complete 15 of these using your right foot and lengthening your left leg, and another 15 using your left foot and lengthening your right leg.

Step 2

To get more noticeable curves on your chest, sit slightly leaning on your weight bench Straddle the chair with your chest without sitting down, leaning against the incline, holding a medium sized dumbbell in each hand. Bring the dumbbells together behind the weight bench, and then lift them out to either side, holding for three seconds and then releasing back to the middle.

Step 3

Tighten your abdominal muscles so that your chest, hips and bottoms look curvier and more prominent. Put the weight bench in a flat position. Seat yourself on the bench with your knees bent slightly and your back inclining to engage the abs. Begin rowing to either side, as if you had an oar. Feel the pull in your abs. Complete as many as you can before becoming tired.

Step 4

Tone your thighs and glutes. Grab two medium to heavy weights, and holding them by either side with your arms straight, stand with your feet less than shoulder width apart. Drop down into a dead lift. Your back should be perfectly straight, and the lifting should be felt in the thighs and glutes. Drop as far as you can go, and slowly rise back up. Complete at least 15 repetitions.
