How to Lose Weight Fast With Drinks

Although food plays an important role in weight loss, you need to pay attention to what you drink as well. If you wish to lose weight fast, you can use diet drinks as a way to reach your goal. Remember to exercise as well during your diet to lose the weight quickly. You should aim for at least 60 minutes of cardio exercise per day. It is also important to speak to your doctor before you diet with drinks.

Step 1

Choose a weight-loss drink system. Some examples of programs include Slim Fast and Atkins. They both have similar flavors available: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and coffee. You can purchase the weight-loss drinks at most grocery stores or online.

Step 2

Drink a meal replacement shake in the morning. Instead of eating breakfast, you will drink one of the diet drinks. The shakes come in ready-to-drink varieties as well as concentrate that can be blended. To prepare the shakes, you will add 8 oz. of milk, either vitamin D fortified skim milk or soy milk, and 1/2 cup of ice cubes to the blender. Mix until well-blended and consume in one sitting.

Step 3

Consume another meal replacement drink at lunchtime. You can also have a low-calorie food item with the drink. Aim for the food item to be less than 200 calories if you want to lose weight fast.

Step 4

Eat a normal low-calorie dinner. Dinners should be less than 500 calories and be made up of lean meats, vegetables and whole grains.

Step 5

Get your extra calories during snack times. You can have two to three snacks daily between meals while following a diet that uses shakes to lose weight. Atkins and Slim Fast both make protein bars that you can snack on. Fruits are also a good snack item to have between meals. It is recommended that you get at least three servings of fruits and veggies per day.

Step 6

Avoid high-calorie drinks. Between meals, you should not drink any soda, fruit juice or full-fat milk. Instead, aim to drink eight to 10 glasses of ice-cold water. Diet sodas and nonfat milk can also be consumed in moderation.

Step 7

Follow the diet until you reach your goal weight. Most dieters use the meal replacement drinks for only a few months. If you plan to use the drinks for more than 5 months, you should first consult with your doctor. To maintain the weight loss, you will adjust the diet so that you are using only one meal replacement drink per day.
