Espresso is coffee that is concentrated, made from brewing with hot water under high pressure. It has more caffeine than regular coffee drinks. Most popular is the regular espresso drink, but white espresso has recently increased in popularity.

Espresso

According to the website My Fitness Pal, a 1 oz. serving of regular brewed espresso has 1 calorie and 0 g of fat. White espresso is made from beans that are roasted only until they lose color and become white, which adds more of a nutty flavor to the drink. The difference in brewing methods does not change the caloric content of the drink, so a 1 oz. serving of white espresso would also have 1 calorie.

Flat White Espresso

A flat white espresso is served with milk, thus the calorie content is increased. According to My Fitness Pal, a 12 oz. cup of flat white coffee has 117 calories and 11 g of fat.

Considerations

White espresso should not be confused with white coffee, which is a term typically used to describe regular coffee that's served with milk or cream.
