Sibutramine, or Reductil, is an anti-obesity medication. It contains the active ingredient sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate, which works by targeting chemicals in your brain to make you feel full and satisfied when eating lower amounts of food. You will have to maintain a proper diet plan and exercise program while taking Reductil in order to maintain your new healthy weight after you stop taking the medication.
Step 1
Take one Reductil capsule daily. Make sure to choose a certain time and stick to it every day. It is best you take your capsule right after breakfast, although you can take it any time during the day--preferably with food.
Step 2
Cut down on unhealthy foods when taking Reductil. Eliminate foods high in fat such as sugary pastries, fried foods, ice cream, candy and chips. Add more healthy vegetables and fruits to your diet. Doing these things together with Reductil will help you lose weight faster.
Step 3
Exercise for 30 minutes or more every day. Exercising can help increase your metabolism and, when combined with Reductil, can help you achieve your weight-loss goals faster. Do cardio exercises such as aerobics, jogging or swimming. Walking for at least one hour a day is beneficial as well.
Step 4
Make sure to take all your measurements prior to beginning the course of Reductil. These include weighing yourself and measuring your waistline. Take your measurements once every two weeks or once a month. You will be more confident if you see physical progress in yourself.
