The Chi Machine is a fitness product designed to provide a low-impact aerobic workout at home. The user reclines on the ground and places his feet on supports attached to the top of the device. A motor inside the product will move the feet from side to side, working the lower body.

Effects

The makers of the Chi Machine say using the device twice daily, for 15 to 20 minutes per session, will result in modest weight-loss benefits. Raising the arms above the head will improve the machine's effectiveness.

Calorie Burn

A person weighing 140 pounds burns 64 calories in 15 minutes of low-impact aerobic exercise on the Chi Machine. A person who weighs 160 pounds will burn 74 calories in 15 minutes.

Considerations

The number of calories burned when performing any activity depends on level of exertion and current weight. Reducing caloric intake is another important factor in reaching any weight-loss goal.
