How to Lose Weight Easily & Fast

Making an effort to lose weight is a good first step, but it’s important to adhere to the proper plan for your lifestyle in order to really see a difference in your physique. With a few dietary and fitness-related changes, you’ll notice the pounds coming off much faster and with much less effort than if you chose a plan that didn’t suit you.

Step 1

Make it a priority to eat foods that help your weight loss efforts. A healthy diet includes foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, lean proteins like tuna and at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. However, you can do more to aid your body in weight loss. Add soybeans to your diet for their lecithin content. Lecithin actually blocks fat absorption at the cellular level, meaning fat you consume will be flushed right out of your system. Make an effort to eat more citrus fruits as well. The vitamin C in these fruits works to speeds up your metabolism, which means more fat loss at a faster rate.

Step 2

Avoid foods that maintain your weight. For instance, caffeinated drinks and alcohol cause water retention and bloating. This water buildup looks the same as fat on the scale, resulting in lowered weight loss potential. Steer clear of the complex carbohydrates in starchy foods like breads and pastas. These carbs go through the digestive tract slowly so the body ends up absorbing more fat from them and your weight loss stagnates.

Step 3

Do an aerobic exercise for 30 minutes a day. Aerobic or cardiovascular exercise gets your heart rate up and is an essential component of weight loss. This is the kind of exercise that burns calories and fat, so if you’re maintaining a healthy diet, the pounds will noticeably come off. Everything from a Tae Bo video to a bike ride counts, so choose the form of exercise that you find fun.

Step 4

Focus on muscle definition. Toning your muscles won’t help you shed pounds but it will improve the form of your body so that once the fat is burned away, you’ll have slim and defined muscles to show off. This also helps the skin to return to its original elasticity if you need to lose a lot of weight. A few effective options include Pilates, weightlifting and a standard workout course of sit-ups, push-ups, chin-ups and other similar exercises.

Step 5

Find a weight loss plan that makes sense for you. If you’re on a budget, a food delivery service or private gym membership is probably out of the cards. However, you can find a great workout video, a local yoga class or weight loss cookbook to help the pounds come off. The real trick to weight loss is finding a plan that you can commit to without interference. Once you accomplish that, you’ll be much more likely to see results for your efforts.
