The Core Rhythms Dance Exercise DVDs enable you to burn calories while teaching you some fundamentals of Latin dancing. The Kick Start DVD teaches the basic moves. The Full Workout offers about 45 minutes of aerobic exercise. The Quick Workout lasts about 20 minutes.
Kick Start DVD
The Kick Start DVD will prepare you for the Full or Quick workouts, but will not raise your heart rate or burn many calories. You work at your own pace until you master the moves. You could consider this portion of the set as moderate dancing activity. After an hour, you might burn up to 330 calories.
Full Workout
The Full Workout of the Core Rhythms program involves about 45 minutes of intense aerobic activity. According to the National Institutes of Health calorie-burn chart, at 154 lbs., you would burn about 360 calories during this segment. The less you weigh, the fewer calories you burn.
Quick Workout
Using the same calculations, after the 20-minute Quick Workout, you would burn about 130 calories.
