Created by Jillian Michaels, known best for her personal training role on the TV program "The Biggest Loser," the 30-Day Shred is an exercise DVD that includes three 20-minute circuit workouts. The 30-Day Shred is not a diet, although nutritional references and materials are recommended in order to obtain maximum workout results.

The Workout

Claiming to help dieters drop 20 pounds in 30 days, the 30-Day shred provides progressive workouts, created to burn calories, gain strength and build lean muscles mass. Based on Jillian's 3-2-1-strength, cardio and abdominal circuit--3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio and 1minute abs--cycled through in a circuit, the workouts are designed to cater to all levels of a fitness.

The Facts

The workout video supplies motivation, exercise guidance and variety for people looking for a progressive exercise program to incorporate into their daily routine. The exercise DVD does not focus on nutritional education and does not include dietary recommendations.

Calories Burned

Calories burned during participation in the daily workout will depend on each individual's body composition, heart rate and environmental factors. Frequency, intensity and duration of total exercise are all factors that will need to be taken into account to produce an accurate number of calories burned during each workout.
