Pelvic Floor Exercise Tools

The pelvic floor muscles support your uterus, bowels and bladder. Weak pelvic floor muscles can cause vaginal prolapse or incontinence and and can affect sexual gratification. Keeping your pelvic floor muscles strong can alleviate these problems, according to Medline Plus. There are several pelvic floor exercise tools that you can use to help strengthen and tone the muscles.

Vaginal Cones

Vaginal cones are cone-shaped gel or liquid-filled pelvic floor exercise tools. When they are placed inside the vagina, you squeeze your pelvic floor muscles so they don't fall out. Vaginal cones can be effective for tightening the pelvic floor muscles, according to a 2005 report by the European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Biology.

Kegel Balls

Kegel balls are very similar to vaginal cones, but instead of being cone-shaped, they are spheres. They work in the same way as vaginal cones; place one inside your vagina and squeeze your pelvic floor muscles.

Biofeedback

The biofeedback method uses an electrical stimulation device that contracts and relaxes inside the vagina, mimicking the action of squeezing and releasing your vaginal muscles, according to the Kidney and Urologic Diseases Clearinghouse. Using a biofeedback device helps you identify your pelvic floor muscles so you can carry out the exercises on your own.

Kegel Exerciser

Kegel exercisers are devices with handles that are inserted in the vagina. You contract and then release your pelvic floor muscles to close and open the handles.
