You can develop a healthier heart through breathing exercises. By slowing down and practicing awareness of your breath, you might improve your health and the quality of your life. Take it day by day and breath by breath.
Heart and Breath
The heart is part of the blood-vascular system. The heart is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body, but can only do so with the aid of oxygen. Oxygen is brought into the body with the respiratory system. Healthy breathing patterns are essential to a healthy respiratory system.
Chest Breath
Start by lying comfortably face up. Inhale deeply until your chest is full of air and lifted significantly. Keep the chest lifted and try to exhale the lungs first and then allow the chest to naturally follow. Keep all of your attention focused on the breath. Try to complete nine cycles of the breath your first time and eventually work up to 27 cycles.
Heart Chakra Breath
A chakra is an energy center in the body, according to "A Handbook of Chakra Healing" by Kalashatra Govinda. A well-developed heart chakra will improve the respiratory system. Try lying on your back and placing a piece of jade stone in the middle of your chest. Close your eyes and concentrate on your heart as well as your breath, joining them together. Start with three minutes and work up to 10 minutes.
Living Your Breath
In addition to practicing the breathing exercises, cultivate breath awareness in your daily life. According to life coach Jim Pehkonen, breathing is something we often do without intention, but to make the breath work for you, take an active approach to your breathing. Be aware of your breath throughout the day. Use it to help you through stressful situations.
