When you don't have the time or money for the spa, you can make skin care products using items you have at home. Natural home remedies inspired many of today's spa treatments, according to WholeLiving.com. Fruits naturally contain alpha hydroxy acids that can exfoliate the skin, while other foods contain anti-inflammatory products that reduce skin redness and irritation.

Breakout Soother

Step 1

Mix crushed oatmeal, honey, yogurt and diced orange together in a small bowl, making a paste. This exfoliating scrub features orange, which works as an astringent, combined with the soothing effects of honey and yogurt to reduce redness. Apply to the skin when you experience a breakout.

Step 2

Apply the mixture to your skin in slow, circular motions to encourage skin exfoliation. Exfoliate the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.

Step 3

Rinse the scrub away with lukewarm water and gently towel-dry the face.

Avocado Oil Repair

Step 1

Mix one part avocado oil with one part evening primrose oil in a sealable bottle. Seal the mixture and shake to mix completely. These oils can effectively treat dry, flaky skin. Evening primrose oil contains gamma linoleic acid, which can stimulate elastic fibers to grow, making the skin appear more supple.

Step 2

Pour a small amount into your clean hand and gently apply it to areas where you experience dryness.

Step 3

Place a warm washcloth over your face and leave on for one minute to help the oils seep into the skin. Remove the washcloth and continue your daily skin routine.

Coffee Grounds Exfoliator

Step 1

Save leftover coffee grounds from your coffee brew.

Step 2

Wet a washcloth in lukewarm water and then dip the washcloth in the coffee grounds. The caffeine from the coffee grounds can temporarily tighten skin, making coffee a skin exfoliant that can leave your skin feeling tight and toned.

Step 3

Gently massage the coffee grounds onto the neck, using a light, circular motion. Dip back into the coffee grounds when you have used up the grounds and repeat on your body, massaging anywhere you experience dry, rough skin. AllYou.com recommends applying to the thighs and other cellulite-prone area in an attempt to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite, but this claim is not substantiated by research.
