Cervical cancer is a cancer that starts in the lower part of your uterus, the cervix. Symptoms may include vaginal discharge, abnormal vaginal bleeding, appetite loss, weight loss, fatigue, pelvic pain, back pain, leg pain or swelling in one leg. Some supplements may help reduce your risk of developing cervical cancer. Others may help in relieving or controlling symptoms of cervical cancer treatment.

Riboflavin

Supplementing your diet with riboflavin may play a role in decreasing your risk for cervical cancer. MedlinePlus informs that increasing your intake of dietary or supplemental riboflavin may reduce your risk for precancerous spots on the cervix. In addition to supplement form, riboflavin can be obtained from foods such as meat, milk, eggs and green vegetables.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

A daily omega-3 supplement may help correct nutritional deficiencies associated with cervical dysplasia. Cervical dysplasia is a condition in which abnormal cells develop on the cervix. This condition can lead to the onset of cervical cancer in women. Omega-3 fatty acids may help reduce inflammation in your body and improve your health. Therefore, they may aid in preventing the onset of cancer or relieving current symptoms. The University of Maryland Medical Center reports that an intake of one to two capsules of fish oil per day may be a good option. In addition to supplemental form, omega-3 fatty acids can be obtained from foods such as salmon, flaxseed oil and walnuts.

Coenzyme Q10

Conenzyme Q10 can be purchased at many health food stores. The University of Maryland Medical Center recommends an intake of 100 to 200mg of this supplement at bedtime to help correct nutritional deficiencies associated with cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer. Coenzyme Q10 acts as an antioxidant and may help boost immune support and prevent damage to body cells.
