Every once in a while, our colons can use a break. The colon is responsible for removing water and salt from foods that have not been digested (wastes) and will eventually be eliminated from the body in bowel movements. However, some individuals with very poor dietary habits may often suffer from constipation, cramps and bloating. Occasional colon cleanses performed once or twice a year may help remove excess wastes from the colon and improve such symptoms. Creating a colonic cleanse at home is relatively inexpensive, safe and effective.
Step 1
Mix approximately 1 cup of apple juice (pure and unsweetened is best) and 1/2 to 1 cup of purified water in a glass. Add 1 tbsp. of green clay (bentonite) powder and mix. If you wish, add about 1/2 tsp. of psyllium husk seeds or other herbs of your choice. Psyllium husk seeds are known as a bulking agent or component and will help wastes clump together in the colon. You may substitute flax seeds for psyllium husk seeds if you wish. Cayenne pepper will stimulate the digestive movements of the colon.
Step 2
Drink the mixture. Immediate following this step, mix another glass of liquid containing approximately 10 oz. of purified water, 1 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp. of honey. Drink this mixture as well.
Step 3
Wait as long as possible before you visit the bathroom in order to allow the mixtures to coat the large intestine for optimal cleansing benefits.
Step 4
Drink plenty of water following the colonic to prevent dehydration and to keep things moving, removing all excess wastes from the colon.
