In lymphoma cancer, the cells of the immune system change and grow out of control or order. These abnormal cells form too much tissue and become a tumor. The two large categories of lymphoma -- the Hodgkin's and the Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas -- are distinguished by distinct morphologic and clinical features of lymphocytes. You can ward off common lymphoma cancer complications by supporting your immune health with herbs. Check with your doctor before taking them as some herbs may interact with some medications.

Devil's Claw

The extract of Harpagophytum procumbens, commonly known as devil's claw, has been reported to be effective in the treatment of lymphoma cancer, according to a study conducted by K. S. Wilson, M.D., which was published in the journal "Current Oncology" in August 2009. The anti-tumor effect of devil's claw has been attributed to the harpagoside and beta-sitosterol compounds.

Asparagus Cochinchinensis

Asparagus, a perennial plant of the lily family, contains good amount of asparagin, an anticancer agent which is useful against lymphoma cancer, according to the e-magazine Newsfinder.org. This herb also contains a specific plant fat called b-sitosterol, which is one of the body's best cancer fighters.

Turmeric

Curcumin, the principal component in turmeric, appears to stop the growth of cancer in the lymphatic system, according to a study conducted by S. Uddin and colleagues at the Department of Human Cancer Genomic Research at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Saudi Arabia. Curcumin may inhibit the proliferation of lymphoma cancer by modulating cell cycling and inducing apoptosis -- the body's natural way of getting rid of cells that are either genetically damaged or superfluous.
