Optifast is a total meal-replacement diet based on controlled calories where clients consume prepackaged shakes, drinks and bars for their daily nutritional needs. Optifast is for individuals with serious weight issues, that is, for those who need to lose at least 50 lbs. Moreover, it is a strictly medically supervised weight-loss program available only through participating providers and clinics. Program Design
The Optifast program consists of three phases. While in the first phase, you'll be on a meal replacement-only diet for several weeks. Optifast 800 Soup comes in garden tomato and chicken dry mix flavors. Each packet of soup contains 160 to 170 calories, 3 to 4 g of fat and 14 g of protein. Additionally, one serving contains 19 to 20 g of carbohydrates, 600 to 620 mg of sodium and 450 to 750 mg of potassium. Optifast soups contain less than 1 g of lactose. The Optifast 800 ready-to-drink shakes are 8 oz. per serving and contain 160 calories, 3 g of fat and 14 g of protein. The shakes also contain 20 g of carbohydrates, 470 g of potassium and 220 mg of sodium. The available flavors are french vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
Optifast 800 Bar
Optifast 800 bars come in berry, chocolate, peanut butter and yogurt flavors. One bar contains: 160 to 170 calories, 19 to 21 g of carbohydrates, 14 g of protein, 4 g of fiber and 3.5 to 5 g of fat. Additionally, Optifast bars contain 350 to 360 mg of potassium, 150 to 190 mg of sodium and less than 1 g of lactose.
Bariatric Powder Products
Optifast HP powder shakes are designed to provide nutrients to bariatric patients before and after bariatric surgery. Specifically, each shake provides 200 calories, 10 g of carbohydrates, 6 g of fat and 26 g of protein. Also, each serving contains 800 mg of potassium, 480 mg of sodium and less than 1 g of lactose.
