Bad breath is often caused by poor dental care. However, other things can cause halitosis as well, including stomach problems, diet, alcohol consumption and even serious medical conditions such as diabetes, kidney malfunction and ulcers. If you can't pinpoint the cause of your bad breath, talk to both a dentist and a general practitioner to determine its cause. Addressing the problem will help you resolve it much quicker.

Step 1

Take vitamins B and C supplements. According to Health911, vitamin C can help clear your body of mucus and toxins that might be causing bad breath. A B vitamin deficiency can also lead to bad breath.

Step 2

Take chlorophyll supplements. According to Phyllis Balch in his book "Prescription for Natural Healing," chlorophyll cleanses the blood, removes toxins and neutralizes odors.

Step 3

Try clove, anise or fennel supplements. You can buy the dried herbs and make them into tea or chew them. You can also buy capsules of any of these herbs and take them on a daily basis. They help freshen your breath and they kill the bacteria that causes odor.

Step 4

Try Mercurious. This homeopathic treatment is especially effective when taken three to four times a day, according to World Dental Magazine. Ask your homeopathic doctor for a 30X dosage and take it for four days.

Tips and Warnings

  • Keep in mind that there is little to no research showing that these natural supplements help with bad breath. Use common sense when trying them out. If one particular supplement does not seem to work for you, move on and try another one.
